Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Service Description
BizDay provides a REST API for workday calculations, including determining whether a date is a business day, finding the next or previous workday, adding workdays to a date, and counting workdays between two dates. The service covers 30+ countries with public holiday awareness.
2. Account Terms
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API key. You must not share your API key with unauthorized parties.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and API key. Notify us immediately at hello@bizday.dev if you believe your API key has been compromised.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the API for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits or usage quotas
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the API
- Resell or redistribute API access without authorization
- Use the API in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the service
- Share, publish, or expose your API key in client-side code or public repositories
4. API Usage & Rate Limits
Each plan includes a monthly request allowance. Requests exceeding your plan's limit will receive a 429 (Too Many Requests) response. Usage resets on the 1st of each month at midnight UTC.
We reserve the right to throttle or suspend access if we detect abusive usage patterns, including but not limited to automated scraping, denial-of-service attempts, or excessive error-generating requests.
5. Payment & Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law. You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
If payment fails, we will attempt to collect for up to 7 days. After that, your account may be downgraded to the Free plan.
6. Data Accuracy
Holiday data is sourced from public APIs and government sources. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that holiday data is complete or error-free. You should verify critical business decisions independently. BizDay is not liable for losses arising from inaccurate holiday data.
7. Service Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability. We are not liable for any downtime, data loss, or service interruptions.
8. Intellectual Property
The BizDay API, documentation, website, and all associated materials are the property of BizDay. Your use of the API does not grant you any ownership rights. You retain ownership of any applications you build using the API.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BizDay shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service.
10. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may cancel your account by contacting us at hello@bizday.dev. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your API key will be deactivated and your access to the API will cease.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
